"Anthroposcope" 2011

"Anthroposcope" (2011) Videoinstallation, "Things that talk", Vienna Art Week 2011, Museum of Natural History Vienna

The anthropological exhibition of the Museum of Natural History Vienna (NHM) was closed at the end of the 1990s. The reason was the questionable exhibits that made a comparison of the so called "human races". The body measurements can still be seen in a "Filmarchiv Austria" documentary in the NHM. Departing from the question of how measurement might be made in the era of genetics, preimplantation diagnostics and reproductive medicine, the "Anthroposcope" was designed for the pleasure of observing and measuring various homunculi.
